Everything about econnect

Since 2018, Zeno has been offering sales invoices to customers via the econnect platform. Some customers (mainly government institutions) are even obliged to do it this way these days. But large construction companies, for example, are also increasingly demanding this!

By using the econnect platform, the invoice no longer has to be sent via e-mail to the customer, but the invoice is offered directly to the econnect platform via a so-called web service call.

Here, the invoice data is provided to econnect in a standardized format for electronic invoicing (the so-called UBL format). A PDF of the Zeno invoice is also included so that the receiving party also has it available.

Via the econnect platform, the invoice will be automatically offered and processed to the receiving party.

How does this work on the Zeno side?

In the case of a relationship, you can indicate that the default payment method should be “Invoice UBL via econnect”. In addition, specify the type of econnect, choosing “VAT-number”, “KvK-nummer”, “OIN” or “GLN”. This determines how the relationship can be found within the econnect platform. For national government institutions, the OIN number must be used. For example, construction companies require the GLN number.

When an invoice (for example for a subscription, sales order or course participation) is created with the payment method “Invoice UBL via econnect”, the invoice print options include the option to offer the invoice directly via econnect (note: see points for attention below).

By executing this print option, the invoice is immediately inserted into the econnect link.

A few points of attention for the connection;

  1. You must create an account with econnect yourself. Within that account, it can then be arranged for Zeno to have access to it (by generating a unique key and passing it on to us).
  2. Please note that when you create an account within econnect, it is possible that other parties can also send invoices to you via econnect! Therefore, ask econnect what the options are to prevent this if you are not waiting for this.
  3. The link uses the functionality that creates the Zeno invoice directly from the database as a PDF. This is used by many of our Zeno customers to send the invoice via email. If you are not using it yet, Socho will need to make this functionality first.
  4. The option to send an invoice directly to econnect is not available “out of the box” within Zeno and will have to be added by Socho as a print option. The reason for this is that sending the invoice via econnect links to existing processes for determining the invoice layout. These are often customized in consultation with Zeno customers and this should also be taken into account when connecting to econnect.
